THE ARRAN HERITAGE PROJECT - WEB ARCHIVISTS
This website has been developed by two people who have been involved in the heritage and history of Arran in various ways over the last 10 years or more.
Edward O'Donnelly's idea to ensure that the massive quantity of data collected by the High School children was not only kept, but digitised for future generations, illustrates his commitment in working with historical data and more directly with children in Arran in Ayrshire. Edward's current involvement with the website was to collect and format material from 2001 onwards and ensure it was catalogued before being passed on for inclusion on the AHP website. Eddie works comprehensively with North Ayrshire Council on a variety of projects including multimedia work and education.
Graham Chappell is the director of Arran Graphics, his design and print business also based in Lochranza. Together with former art teacher Maureen Farquharson and the Arran Heritage Group, Graham and his company produced the Arran Heritage Project's book in 2001 and this is still available, at present, through the Arran Heritage Museum. Graham's job for the website was to use the existing data collected for the book and format it for web suitability. With Edward he developed and now maintains the entire website on behalf of the AHP Group.

The Arran Heritage Project Website is hosted in the USA and it holds more than 4Gb of information. With the inevitable progress of high speed internet access and a huge variety of "new things" now available on-line, the site can continue to evolve. Video and audio may be added at a later date.
